What to know before we meet together

Why isn’t the initial financial plan free, like it is with some other advisors?

Advice should be thoughtful, tailored, and actionable — not a disguised sales pitch. A lot of “free” financial plans are just lead-ins to push products or upsell services. That’s not how I operate.

My $150 financial plan is built to give you real value, even if we never work together again. You’re not paying for fluff — you’re getting a clear, personalized roadmap you can implement on your own, with no pressure and no strings attached.

I also believe your time — and mine — is worth something. Charging a modest fee creates mutual buy-in. Clients who invest in the process tend to ask better questions, engage more meaningfully, and follow through on the advice.

📌 The $150 fee is waived if you become an ongoing wealth management client.
📌 The fee is only charged at the end of the process — if you’re not satisfied, you won’t be billed.

Do you have a minimum account size or income requirement?

Anyone can subscribe to the newsletter or purchase a one-time financial plan.

For ongoing wealth management, I don’t apply a hard cutoff. Instead, I consider several factors—your current assets, income, ability to save, and, just as importantly, whether we enjoy working together. This is a selective process because I’m not just managing portfolios—I’m building long-term partnerships.

What area of my finances will we cover in financial planning?

At Brooks Wealth Management, financial planning is comprehensive and fully personalized. That means we look at every area of your financial life—not just your investments. Topics we typically address include:

  • Retirement planning

  • Investment management

  • Tax strategy

  • Cash flow and budgeting

  • Estate planning

  • Risk management and insurance

  • Education funding

  • Charitable giving

  • Equity compensation and business planning

  • Real estate and debt strategies

Because no two clients are the same, we tailor the process to your priorities. If you’d prefer to focus our time on specific areas—like retirement or minimizing taxes—we can absolutely structure the planning to reflect what matters most to you.

What is a fiduciary, and are you one?

A fiduciary is someone who is legally and ethically obligated to act in the best interests of their client. In financial services, this means placing clients needs ahead of the advisors — offering advice that’s objective, transparent, and free from conflicts of interest.

Historically, financial advice in the U.S. was largely sales-driven. For decades, much of the industry was built around selling investment and insurance products for commissions. Advisors were often only held to a suitability standard, which meant their recommendations simply had to be “suitable” — not necessarily best for the client.

In response to growing concerns about transparency and accountability, a fiduciary standard emerged — one that demands higher ethical conduct. Today, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs) like Brooks Wealth Management are held to this fiduciary duty under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. That means I’m required to avoid conflicts of interest, fully disclose fees and compensation, and always act in your best interest.

Yes, I am a fiduciary. I do not earn commissions on product sales, and I have no hidden incentives. My advice is designed around your goals, not mine — just as it should be.
